Carl CHARLIE Renzelmann



CHARLIE Renzelmann was born 01 APR 1885 in Germany and died 19 JAN 1906.
Son of Carl Renzelmann and Dora Ehlers.

Charlie attended school first at District 19 near Nehawka, Avoca Precinct, Cass Co., NE. The family lived at Section 35, Township 10, Range 12, in 1905 according to an atlas and the July 1890 school census. Karl attended school in Otoe Co., until the last record was found in 1902 at District 69.

It is theory remembered by his sister Emma, born in 1902, that the family always said that Karl did not get along with his father, so he left home with 2 friends to be a cowboy, at age 17. In 1906 a minister had sent home his belongings and a letter saying that Karl had died. He may have gone to Wyoming or Montana or Canada but no death record has been found.

A memorial card was found in remembrance of a Charlie Renzelmann that died January 19, 1906. All living members of the Renzelman family have been thoroughly interrogated about the mysterious death. Karls' brother August who died in 1980 thought that Karl was bucked off a horse and died.

Research was done of unincorporated Wyoming, Nebraska, just northeast of Nebraska City.
